Board Election News On January 12th , 2009 TCAHA will hold it's annual General Membership meeting at 6:30 pm at TRAC. One of the important purposes of this meeting is to elect new Board of Director members. There are several positions open for election this year. Please keep in mind that in order to nominate yourself for a position, you must send a letter of interest to Secretary@TCAHA.com by Nov. 30th. Please include in your letter a brief description of yourself, your qualifications and your reasons for seeking that particular position. Please carefully consider the fact that terms are 2 years long (with one exception this year). You will not be able to withdraw your name from the ballot after Dec. 1, 2008. PLEASE DO NOT NOMINATE SOMEONE ELSE unless you have checked with that person and they are prepared to serve on the BOD if elected. The following positions are open for election this year: Vice President (2 year term), Treasurer (1 year term), Secretary (2 year term), Director #2 (2 year term), Director #4 (2 year term). Even if you are an incumbent who plans to run for a second term, I need a letter of interest from you. Descriptions of each position can be found in the Handbook on our website TCAHA.com. Absentee Ballots will be available by email request (from Secretary@TCAHA.com) beginning Dec. 1 and will continue to be available until Jan. 5th, 2009. After that, you will need to come to the meeting to cast your vote. Absentee Ballots can be mailed to our post office box and will be accepted as long as they are post marked by January 12th, 2009. Ballots will be numbered, and a log will be kept so that only one ballot per voting member is turned in. If you request and are sent an absentee ballot via email, please do NOT copy it for your spouse. They must request their own absentee ballot (or you can request 2 to begin with.) It is important for the health of TCAHA that we find qualified candidates to fill each position. The more diverse the board can be, the more representative it can be. Please consider serving for the benefit of a great organization. Sincerely, Jean Megna, TCAHA Secretary
